Questions & Answers 1. Where are your cabins located? See map for cabin location. The cabins are hidden deep in the woods for a very secluded private get-away. However, we are centrally located in Southern Illinois , and only a 10 - 15 minute drive to several communities such as Carbondale , Marion , Herrin, Carterville and Goreville. We are approximately 5 to 10 minutes from Interstate 57 and Interstate 24. 2. How many cabins do you have available for rental?
We have two cabins available for rental on our 80 + acre property. 3. How much does it cost to rent the cabins?
See our rates and information page to check cabin rates. We cost less than many motels, while offering more amenities in a private, secluded scenic location. Our cabins are available year round. 4. What are the accommodations of the cabins?
The cabins sleep up to 6 people. We have two queen size hand-crafted Amish-made log beds and a futon that folds out in front of the fireplace. 5. What amenities are included in the cabins?
We provide for your indoor entertainment: flat screen Hi-Def. TV w/ Directv satellite dish, DVD, CD, stereo For your convenience we provide the following inside the cabin: Outside we provide: Sunken 6-person hot tub, outdoor creek-rock fire pit, firewood, gas grill, Amish-made front porch swing and rocking chairs, patio furniture on back deck. 6. What do I need to bring while staying at the cabin?
Food, beverages, CD's, games, personal items and toiletries. If you would like the cabin stocked with your favorite food and beverages at check-in, we would be happy to purchase those items for you ahead of time. Just e-mail us your shopping list, and we will have everything waiting for you. We will bill your credit card for the amount of purchase, as well as a 20% service / delivery charge. 7. Do you charge a cleaning fee?
No cleaning fee will be charged if the following few things are done before checking out: However, a $50 cleaning fee will be added to your bill if these things are not done before checking out. 8. How do I make a reservation?
You can reserve a cabin online. Just check our availability calendar, indicate the dates you want to reserve and fill out our reservation form. 9. How do I pay for the cabin rental?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Checks will also be accepted if received 14 days prior to reservation date. Guests will be required to have a valid credit card and drivers license to make a reservation. 10. Can I cancel my reservation if needed?
Cancellations must be made no less than 14 days prior to reservation date. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival date will be charged the full amount due unless we are able to rent the cabin to another guest. Cancellations are subject to a $20.00 cancellation fee. 11. Can I bring my pets?
Sorry, no pets allowed. 12. Can I bring my children?
Absolutely. Our cabin is a wonderful place to bring your children for a family vacation. However, we ask that small children be supervised closely at all times. The hot tub, fireplace and loft area can be hazardous to small children left unattended. In addition, please keep in mind that our cabins are located in a secluded area. 13. Can I smoke in the cabin?
SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN CABIN. Smoking will ruin the natural 14. What are your check-in and check-out procedures?
We live less than a mile away, and you will pass by our house on your way to the cabin, but we may not always be home when you arrive. You will receive a door code to unlock the cabin when we e-mail your reservation confirmation. Please remember that check-in time is 3:00 p.m. or later and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. sharp. Please be prompt when checking out so that the cabin can be cleaned before the next guests arrive. 15. What do you recommend for recreation while staying at Devil's Kitchen Cabins?

While visiting with us, you may enjoy visiting the wineries on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, playing golf, zip-lining, hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, shopping, antiquing, horseback riding and a variety of sporting events at Southern Illinois University, John A. Logan College or the Southern Illinois Miners baseball team. |
